Montville Crime of the Week
January 11, 2023

The Montville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the individuals involved in a burglary. On Friday, January 6, 2023, between the hours of 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM, the FSS Armory located at 36 Rt. 46 Pine Brook, NJ was burglarized. The suspects managed to steal several firearms.

Morris Township Assault and Robbery
January 10, 2023

The Morris Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying individuals involved in an assault and robbery where the suspects stole $2,000.00. On Saturday, August 20, 2022, at about 8:30pm, the below unknown actor assaulted the victim with other assailants. The Morris Township Police Department was dispatched to the rear parking lot of 108 Ridgedale Avenue for a robbery. The victim was walking on the rear path of Evergreen Cemetery, heading in the direction of Garden Street, when a group of men assaulted him.

Morris Plains Grandparent's Scam
October 28, 2022

The Morris Plains Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the individual responsible for a grandparent’s scam where the suspect received $9,850 cash from the victim and displayed a firearm. On Friday, October 21st, 2022, at about 5:15pm, the below unknown subject called the victim pretending to be a New York Prosecutor and advised her that her grandson was in a car accident with a pregnant woman and needed $9,850 cash for bail money. The suspect advised the victim to meet him at Morris Plains Municipal Building with the cash and is believed to have followed her, as he gave directions over the phone several times when the victim made wrong turns. The suspect changed the location at the last minute and met the victim in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot (401 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains) where he took the money and displayed a firearm that he was wearing on the inside of his jacket.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office wanted Tyson McCoy
October 17, 2022

Tyson McCoy is wanted by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Narcotics Task Force, for numerous drug related offenses, including 1st degree Possession with Intent/Distribution of narcotics. Tyson McCoy is a 41-year-old male, 6’1’’ tall, and approximately 180 pounds. He has a barbed wire tattoo on his forehead and multiple other tattoos. McCoy goes by the nickname “Nitty Gritz”.

Tyson McCoy is the subject of an active arrest warrant and known to frequent the Morristown and Dover areas.

Denville Shoplifting
August 29, 2022

On Saturday, 8/20/22, at 4:18 PM, the suspect below shoplifted approximately $680.00 worth of razors from the CVS in Denville (267 East Main Street). The suspect then made his way to the Walgreens in Denville (22 West Main Street) and attempted to shoplift several more items. While inside the Walgreens, an employee confronted the suspect and chased him out of the store. The suspect was then seen getting into the rear passenger side of a silver/beige four door sedan believed to be an Uber/Lyft. It is also believed that the same actor was involved in similar shoplifting incidents throughout the state.

Morris Plains Burglary
August 04, 2022

On August 2, 2022, the Morris Plains Pharmacy, located at 1745 Route 10 East, was burglarized by the above male. At 04:53 hours, County dispatch sent officer to the above address for a rear door alarm activation. When officers arrived, the rear locking cylinder to the back door was removed and the door was unsecured. A check of the inside of the pharmacy, by responding officers, revealed nothing disturbed and a later check of the video surveillance showed the above suspect in the store. It appears that once the suspect enters, he attempted to locate medication. He uses what appears to be a vice-grip type tool to remove the locking cylinder before going inside the pharmacy.
